Homewatch Home Care Clients

Our clients live in their own homes or apartments, assisted living homes, or with family members. Our clients include those who are aging naturally and those who have experienced health conditions such as Heart Failure, Stroke, Diabetes, Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease or Parkinson's Disease.  Without Homewatch Home Care, many of our clients would have had no other option than to move into a nursing home ; but with Homewatch, they are able to continue living in their own home, where it is comfortable and familiar.

  • Mrs. J. is a 91-year-old woman who has had a stroke and also has some dementia. She lives with her son who has a disability himself and cannot care for her. Our home health aides go to her home twice a day -- morning and afternoon -- and do many things, including assisting with medications, checking vital signs, preparing meals, cleaning the house, grocery shopping, doing laundry, and repositioning Mrs. J in bed or transferring her to a wheelchair. Without our help, Mrs. J would need to be in a nursing home.
  • Mr. L. is a 78-year-old man with multiple sclerosis. His legs are weak and he requires help to get out of bed to use his walker or wheelchair. He lives alone in his house. Without our help it would be impossible for him to stay in his home. Our home health aides go to his home twice a day--morning and evening. They assist with many things, including bathing, shaving, oral care, errands, meal preparation, and housecleaning.
  • Mrs. C. lives with her husband in a townhouse. She is in her 60's. She has a condition that makes it impossible for her to speak and difficult for her to walk. Her arms and legs are weak and she has difficulty swallowing. Her husband is the primary caregiver. Our role is to give him some time off, so that he can run errands, or do other things he needs to do. Our home health aides provide service several days a week. They assist Mrs. C. with bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, toileting, and transferring to her electric scooter. They also prepare meals and help her eat, administer medications, and do laundry and light housekeeping. Our help enables Mr. C. to care for his wife but still have some time off.
  • Mrs. S is a 94 year old woman who has always lived alone, wants to stay in her own apartment, and has strongly resisted efforts to get her to move to a nursing home. Yet, she simply cannot get along by herself anymore. Before we started helping her, she had first been in the hospital, then in a convalescent home. She has bronchitis and heart disease and is unsteady on her feet. A friend of hers, a younger woman who has been helping her for years, called us to se if our services could enable Mrs. S. to continue to live independently. We help Mrs. S. several days a week with bathing, medications, housekeeping, laundry, and meals. This is enough help so that she can stay at home.
  • Mr. and Mrs. L. need help in order to stay in their home, but were very resistant to the idea. We were brought into the case by their elder law attorney, and by another home care agency. Mrs. L has Parkinson's and some dementia. Mr. L. has dementia and is recovering from surgery. We help Mr. and Mrs. L. several days a week with bathing, medications, housekeeping, meal preparation, and also check vital signs. Without this assistance, they would not be able to stay in their home.
  • Mr. B. lives in a very nice apartment in an assisted living facility. He likes it there. Both he and his family want him to continue living there. But Mr. B. requires far more daily assistance and care then the assisted living facility can provide. So, the assisted living staff and the family brought HOMEWATCH in to provide 24-hour care for Mr. B. so that he can continue living where he wants to.
