Learn About Homewatch Home Care

  • Homewatch Home Care is locally owned and operated. The owner is involved on a day-to-day basis in running the company.  For more information about Homewatch, our owner, and our mission, please read the company overview
  • We have been providing home care to Minnesotans for eight years. We are proud to say that several of our home care clients come from referrals.  Our home care service has made it possible for many people to live at home rather than assisted living or nursing homes
  • We provide home care that is flexible to a person's needs, including assistance from a few hours each week up to and including 24-hour or live-in care.  We also do respite care for family caregivers who need time away for work or personal life.
  • We serve the greater Twin Cities area, much of Southern Minnesota, and select outstate areas.  In most areas that are within 3-hours of Minneapolis, we are able to provide 24-hour care, enabling seniors to live at home, rather than assisted living or a nursing home in Minnesota.  If you are wondering if we service your area, please call our office and if we can't provide home care in your area, we will do our best to assist you in finding another agency.
  • Homewatch caregivers are even available for people who already live in assisted living, but need additional assistance to stay living there: instead of moving to a nursing home.
  • Beyond the home care and companionship home care services that our caregivers provide, we have 6 Registered Nurses and 1 LPN who do a lot care management at no additional charge. Care Management can include regular visits to the client's home, coordinating Medicare or therapy services, ordering prescriptions, communicating with doctors, ensuring home management, ordering home medical equipment, and so much more.  The hands-on involvement of our nurses, usually at no additional charge, truly differentiates Homewatch from other home care agencies in Minnesota.
  • We also work with clients who need a caregiver to be awake for 24-hours of the day.  We provide for these clients a consistent live-in caregiver who they can get to know and trust.  While this caregiver sleeps at night, we bring in another caregiver who will stay awake during the night hours.  We charge the client a daily rate combined with a night rate so that they don't have to pay the hourly charge for 24-hours per day.  This program is unique to Homewatch home care and it not only saves our clients money (around $185 per day), but it offers them them the consistency in care that they deserve.
  • Standard Fees (at a minimum of 6-hours of service each week) are $27 per hour or $275 per day for 24-hour or live-in home care.
  • Homewatch Home Care carries extensive liability insurance.
  • Homewatch Home Care holds a Class A Home Care License from the Minnesota Health Department. Under this license, we provide home care and RN case management, for anyone needing assistance to continue living independently at home. Home care can include transportation, medication administration, bathing and personal care, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's care, mobility assistance, meal preperation, houskeeping, and so much more.
  • We are VERY selective in hiring our caregivers, who are certified home health aides. They must achieve high scores in written and practical testing. They must also pass reference, driving record, and criminal background checks.
  • All of our caregivers are company employees. They are friendly, experienced, well-screened, receive on-going training, and covered by Workers Compensation Insurance.
  • In order to keep our excellent caregivers, we pay them very well, provide health and dental insurance, and offer a 401K program to full-time employees.
  • We accept private-pay and long-term care insurance as well as the Consumer Directed Community Supports service program (CDCS), which allows those who qualify for Medical Assistance under the following programs to direct how they want to spend their assistance.  Click Here to download the CDCS Brochure or Click Here to go to the DHS website and learn more about this program.
